Ethan Magro
Ethan is an Oakland University graduate with a B.S. In Environmental Sustainability and Resource Management. He is a Michigan native that grew up being fascinated by the plants and animals around the state, and found a passion for natural resources through hiking and mountain biking. During undergrad, he studied tropical field ecology in Ecuador, and fell in love with the physical and immediate effects that environmental science could have on various ecosystems. He worked in Michigan Technological University’s Biomaterials Laboratory studying wound healing in cetaceans during migration tagging, Oakland University’s Limnology Lab studying harmful algal bloom indicators in lake water samples, and volunteered in OU’s Aquatic Ecology Lab performing field sampling for a study investigating Artificial-Light-At-Night and its effects on emergent riparian macroinvertebrates. Ethan joined Lake St. Clair CISMA in 2024 as an Invasive Species Technician performing both field work and assisting with public education and outreach.
